Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team. The Welder will be responsible for cutting and joining metals and other materials at our facilities or construction sites. You will operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision. Your job is important as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Welding Operations: Utilize various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding to join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material.
- Read and Interpret Blueprints: Understand and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the proper welding technique required.
- Inspect and Maintain Equipment: Regularly inspect welding tools and equipment for wear and tear, performing necessary maintenance and repairs to ensure functionality and safety.
- Quality Control: Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Follow Safety Standards: Adhere to all safety protocols and wear protective gear, such as safety glasses, gloves, and helmets, to ensure a safe working environment.
- Material Preparation: Prepare materials by cutting, shaping, and smoothing surfaces before welding to ensure proper fit and bond.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to complete projects and solve any welding-related issues.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project timelines.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Welder (X years of experience preferred).
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a welding apprenticeship program or vocational training is highly desirable.
- Certification: Welding certification from a recognized body (e.g., AWS) is preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficient in various welding techniques and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Good understanding of safety standards and practices.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and equipment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials and equipment.
- Capacity to stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in varying conditions, including extreme heat and confined spaces.
Working Conditions:
- Work is typically performed in a workshop, manufacturing plant, or construction site.
- Exposure to loud noises, hazardous materials, and extreme temperatures.
- May require overtime, weekends, and evening shifts to meet project deadlines.
